this world takes place very very very far into the future, after an event called the great freeze wiped out humanity. at the time of this event cats and dogs had been growing more genetically similar to each other, and also a lot more intelligent, thanks to their constant exposure to humans. once humans were wiped out, the now combined species of cats and dogs (called canilines) used the now deserted human technology to survive, and eventually developed more and more sapience and culture, becoming the dominant species on earth. thats where we are now. This is my excuse to put my furry ocs into a scifi world by the way

Malti

malti is a little trickster. sometimes intentionally sometimes unintentionally. she's constantly getting into trouble either way though, but consequences dont usually mean much to her considering she can just melt and slither away any time she wants. She's partially a shapeshifter, she's able to mold her body into whatever, but she cant use this ability to disguise herself as anything. she's just a massive flesh blob. she's super passionate about her friends and just life in general, and expresses this in very extreme or odd ways. this makes her pretty offputting to certain people, everyone who knows her either is scared of her or loves her. she doesnt like being serious and will do anything to avoid getting into an actual fight or a serious conversation.

malti is kind of crazy for nebula. she would literally do anything for her, and the feeling is very much mutual. she feels like theres some giant cosmic event that brought them to each other. Weird! they met each other at a party hosted by ky, and ever since then they've been inseperable

Terri (brother)

malti is super close with terri, and she has been ever since she was adopted by his family when they were both babies. since he's a lot more self concious and reasonable than her, he usually is able to convince her to not make very obvious mistakes. if he wasnt there, she would probably be in Floopledoople prison or something. terri's family literally found her alone in the woods

Ky

ky and malti's dynamic is pretty much the opposite of malti and terri's dynamic, ky encourages malti to make obvious mistakes a lot and often joins in with her Shenanigans. they both usually rope terri into whatever theyre doing, much to his dismay. malti met ky through terri a long time ago, since terri and ky have been best friends for years

Pastel

pastel is a bit strange to even malti. she acts like she knows things that she really just doesnt, and always tries asking malti questions that make her very uncomfortable. despite this though, pastel is still a member of malti's group, and malti still regards her as a friend.

Trivia

• every bit of malti is completely controllable by her (minus things not connected to her, for example, clothes) letting her create more mass and other crazy things. she's kind of just like Soup inside, its all just flesh mass covered by fur.
• when a limb or anything is removed from her body, she no longer has control over it. most of the time it just melts after being disconnected, unless she spends a lot of time making it so its sturdy. usually her extra limbs and stuff are made super quickly which makes them more flimsy and breakable though.
• malti was originally inspired by my Real life dog Pearl. The name Malti comes from the dog breed Maltipoo, which is pearl's breed

Terri

Terri is a workaholic. He never feels proud of his accomplishments and always feels like nothing is ever good enough, so he just works more and more. He wants to be a writer, a teacher, a scientist, literally every smart person profession ever. he's great at all of those things, but he pushes himself so hard the end result is always mediocre. he's forgotten why he was passionate about his interests in the first place. He tends to take life way too seriously, every minor inconvience feels like the end of the world, and he feels like he can never catch a break. Whenever he's somehow not stressed out of his mind though, he's a great guy to hang out with

Malti (sister)

Malti and Terri are very close, like i said in Malti's section. However, Malti is a huge source of most of Terri's stress. He feels like he's responsible for all of her actions and tends to always take the blows for her. He also envies how Careless and Whimsical she is all of the time, but you'll never hear him saying that. Malti is kind of like Terri's therapist since he knows that he can tell her anything and she won't judge him

Ky

Ky and Terri are childhood best friends. Ky taught Terri how to talk for himself and confront people, and also how to calm down. Kind of. Terri always gets Ky to betaread his work, They have a deal where if one of them gets famous, the other one has to get half of the profit, even if they barely do anything. Ky is the only person who never really gets on Terri's nerves, despite being someone who you'd think would totally get on Terri's nerves

Pastel

Terri and Pastel are exes. They were in an incredibly toxic relationship where both of them were pretty neglectful of each other and it generally just sucked. Now they're just frenemies. Pastel gets on Terri's nerves a LOT, but Terri doesnt really want to stop being friends with her. he doesn't hate her or anything, but she's just incredibly difficult to have a meaningful conversation with. He also couldn't avoid her even if he tried to. She's somehow everywhere he goes

Nebula

Terri doesnt talk to Nebula that much since Nebula doesnt talk to Anyone that much, she only hangs out with the group to talk to Malti. He's glad Malti has a great relationship, but he is definetely concerned about how codependant they are. He just hopes if something were to happen to malti or their relationship in general, Nebula would still be okay

• Terri has had an infection in his eyes from the thick atmosphere of where he lives since birth, causing them to cloud over. He can still vaguely see but everything is incredibly blurry. The infection most likely started because of his underdeveloped third eye mutation
• Terri was originally based off of my Real Life dog Caramel. The name Terri comes from Terriors; Caramel's breed
• Terri's scarf was a gift from Malti, which is why he constantly wears it
• as much as he denies it, he picks out his clothes based on what makes him look the most like some sort of badass superhero. his black sharp paw things are actually gloves

Nebula

Nebula is a huge recluse, she spends most of her time just in her bedroom alone. She doesn't really understand people and usually just doesnt like them, even though she acts super nice whenever she has to talk to someone. She would prefer to just waste away all day doing nothing, since she doesnt think she's a person deserving of love. At least, that was how it was until she was forced to go to her brother Ky's party, where she met Malti

Malti is the exact type of person Nebula wishes she could be. Someone who doesnt care, someone who gets along with everyone easily, someone who's an absolute unapologetic freak. Nebula is absolutely crazy in love with Malti, and being around her is the only thing that makes her happy. She loves how creepy Malti can be and she loves that Malti loves her the same way. It feels like they have known each other forever. Weird!

Ky (brother)

Ky was Nebula's only friend pre-Malti, but she always felt out of place in their family, since she isnt biologically related to any of them. Ky was the only one to constantly check up on Nebula, to make sure she's doing okay. It annoyed her a lot. She doesnt hate him, but she wishes that he'd just let her stay alone forever

Terri

nebula thinks he's cool. She doesnt really talk to him much, since he kind of intimidates her a bit, but he's Malti's brother, so she likes him.

• even though Nebula doesnt take much care of herself, something she does every day is trim her face to keep the Poodle cut. It's kind of like a beard
• nebula was my First Ever Gay Character. When i made her i just spontaniously decided This is Malti's girlfriend now. Genuinely no clue why. I only had a vague understanding of what gay people even were I thought lesbian meant nerd at the time

Ky is a super chill dude he does not give a FUCK. you could actually kill someone and he'd just say Not cool man... unless the person you killed was one of his friends. then he'd be seriously pissed. But thats literally the only thing you could ever do to annoy him with. He thinks its pointless holding grudges forever at any person since everyones just the same inside, they all have their reasons and they all are just trying to live their lives. He thinks no one is pure evil or pure good and he stands very strongly by that. Unfortunately, to most people, this makes him seem super pretentious. He doesnt care though. He does also think its important to get mad when needed, he just personally rarely does. He's also the worlds gayest heterosexual man

Ky loves Pastel, and their relationship is surprisingly very healthy. He wishes she treated others better though, but knows why she acts the way she does. He tries his best to help her improve herself and her life, even though everyone around him tells him its pointless. He's really the only person who sees a lot of good in Pastel

Nebula (sister)

Ky feels incredibly bad for Nebula and is always trying to help her, but Nebula always rejects his help. That doesnt stop him from continuing to try though. He's very glad he finally got her to go to a social event, and he's even more glad that led to her meeting her Now girlfriend. He's not sure why Pastel and Terri are so worried about this, he assumes its just because they hadnt seen Nebula before she met Malti.

Terri

Terri has been Ky's best friend since forever, and he's super proud of how he's grown. He likes talking to Terri about his work and ideas a lot, and genuinely does not understand why Terri is so mean to himself about his projects. He wants Terri to just live a little bit, which is why he always does things he is Not Supposed to Do in order to get terri involved in something exciting, because he knows terri will always want to help him.

Malti

Ky thinks Malti is hilarious and respects her a lot, he always has a lot of fun hanging out with her and she always helps him get Terri to actually do something. But whenever Pastel is with them, he can't help but notice how Pastel is a lot more genuinely hostile with Malti than the others. This wasn't always the case, and he wishes Pastel would just tell him whats up

Pastel

Pastel is a super pessimistic and mean person. She knows she isnt memorable or special in any way, so she tries to be memorable by being a complete asshole. She acts like she just doesnt care and is mean because she's just filled with hate and evil, when in reality she feels awful for how she acts. She doesnt know what else to do though, she's kept this image up for herself for so long, and most of her other friends are very similar to how she acts, but theyre being completely genuine. She knows if she tries changing, she'll just become another forgettable face, and another target for people like herself. the friendgroup with these guys is the only one where she's let down her mask, even if slightly.

Pastel and Terri used to be exes, like i said in his section. Pastel was the main issue in their relationship since she would patronize terri and just generally be degrading towards him. She fully knows how much she hurt him, but she's way too stubborn to apologize. Whenever Terri tries to talk to her about it she lashes out. Pastel does like hanging out with Terri and respects him a lot, but you'll never ever hear that from her

Malti

Pastel doesnt know how to feel about Malti. She's immune from being annoyed in any way, and her insults seemingly just go over Malti's head. Pastel has lots of really weird dreams about her too. She's kind of scared of her in a way

Nebula

Nebula hates her, and Pastel has no clue why. She tries to avoid talking to Nebula to not be accidentally mean and upset Ky. Nebula appears in her strange dreams as well though, so its probably for the best. It's too weird to talk to her

Trivia

• in the very first story i made with these characters, Pastel was canonically homophobic for some reason. She killed a gay kid because she wanted to pin it on terri and also hated gay people. What the fuck?
